For the third post in this series we’re heading up north to Manchester, Damn That DJ Made My Day presents DJ Stylus! This guy pretty much does it all; he’s an international club DJ, radio DJ, DJCity ambassador and runs his own weekly club night!
Considered to be one of Manchester’s finest DJs (I say one of to prevent any arguments with DJ Fusion and DJ G2, haha), Stylus not only regularly plays across Manchester, but up and down the country, in addition to rocking parties in places such as Ibiza and Abu Dhabi. His radio credentials include hosting numerous shows on Manchester’s Unity Radio, in addition to appearances on BBC’s Radio 1Xtra; throughout February you can catch him in the mix on 1Xtra every Monday night, 1am to 2am.
Most impressive in my opinion though is the creation of Just About Music, or JAM, with fellow Manchester DJs, Fusion and G2 (both these DJs will feature on Damn That DJ Made My Day soon). What started as a one off event with a focus on good music and bringing back that original party vibe, instantly became a monthly occurrence, and is now the biggest weekly Saturday night in Manchester. All this was accomplished in the space of two years; no promoters involved, just three DJs and great music! As soon as I get a Saturday night off and can get up to Manchester, I’m there!
Although I have not yet had the chance to see Stylus do his thing at a club, I did have the chance to meet him and catch him throwing down a little set at last year’s DJcity UK DJ Link Up. He had me buggin’ out in the middle of the day to Eminem’s Who Knew, haha!
Now for the important part, a DJ Stylus mix. After going through his SoundCloud page a number of times, I really couldn’t decide on one mix to feature here, but his “The Hits” series is a personal favourite of mine, so I decided to include the entire series!
